Flo’s Friendship Kitchen (“Flo’s”) is an original Incorporator of Safe Net Ministries and is located in the First United Methodist Church, 8 Church Street (primary access and parking from Main Street).
Wednesday Luncheon serviced at 11:30 a.m. -If there is no school due to weather there is no Luncheon held that day.
Friday Evening Dinner served at 5 p.m. -If there is no school due to weather there is no Friday Evening Dinner held that day.
These meals are open to the public and are without cost.
In 2010, Flo’s served 6,000 meals. In December 2009, Flo’s became an active member of Foodshare, enabling it to buy food at an average of 17 cents per pound. (This is a different program than the Food Cupboard.) Flo’s serves lunch on Wednesday and dinners on Fridays and everyone gets a take home meal.
Flo’s has a commercially certified kitchen. In 2009 the Franciscan Order donated $2,500 to install a commercial dishwasher. Flo’s was formed in 1983 and has distributed tens of thousands of meals to Stafford residents. It became a part of Safe Net in 2003 and since then has served approximately 30,000 meals.
