Elsie’s House

Elsie’s House is a short-term transitional home designed to help working families, who may have been evicted due to no fault of their own – landlord foreclosure, fire, condemnation of property, and various other situations. Elsie’s House allows families to stay together and get back on their feet. Elsie’s House hosted three families in 2009 – all of which have had positive outcomes. This house was given to us by the Town of Stafford. It was completely renovated from the ground up by a dedicated crew of volunteers who worked virtually every Saturday for three years. Safe Net received a State of Connecticut Legislative Citation for our work, which was presented to Safe Net by State Representative Penny Bacchiochi. In 2010 it cost $5,137 to operate and maintain Elsie’s House.
